LVMH Moet Hennessy- Louis Vuitton (LVMH) is a major sponsor for the Viva Technology Conference for the fourth consecutive year, serving as a co-organizer and as a platinum sponsor both this year and last. LVMH will recognize the best of this year’s “forward-thinking solutions” developed by startups around the world with the LVMH Innovation Award.

Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH, one of this year’s featured speakers, had a friendship with Steve Jobs and admired Jobs for his “combination of creativity and a keen sense of how to manage growth.” Jobs, in turn, thought quite highly of Arnault, and told Arnault, “You know Bernard, I don’t know if in 50 years my iPhone will still be a success but I can tell you, I’m sure everybody will still drink your Dom Perignon.”

Creating a strong foundation that will carry your brand forward for years, but still creating at the edge of innovation, is a challenge for any company. LVMH is focusing their presence at VivaTech 2019 around the theme “Crafting the Customer Experience of Tomorrow” with emphasis on “innovation for customers that make their product purchase experience uniquely memorable and fluid.” This includes utilizing augmented reality, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to enhance a customer’s luxury experience. Bernard Arnault, the third-richest person in the world, has pledged $226 million to help rebuild the Notre Dame Cathedral, repairable despite devastating damage because it was deliberately designed to survive such a fire, with the stone vault acting as a fire door between the roof and interior.

Computational Storage embodies this concept by taking a foundation of existing products (flash storage) and analytic applications, to which it adds the innovation of in-situ processing, to allow real-time data analytics for petabyte scale datasets with reduced infrastructure needs, lower cost, and reduced latency. Applications include AI, big data, content delivery, and machine learning processes. We will share a booth at VivaTech 2019 with another platinum sponsor, Orange. Like LVMH, Orange is partnering with this event for the fourth year in a row.
